I just moved a few days ago and I'm getting phone calls all day! Very bothersome.

This is the "National Do Not Call Registry"; but one caveat is that there are some organizations who are exempt and may still call, regardless of whether you are on the registry or not.





A second, and more valuable thing to do is go to:





http://www.donotcall.ca/





And register as well. You can select many of those groups who are exempt from the National Do Not Call Registry, like charities, and this service will automatically format a formal letter and send it on your behalf to the organization. By using this method, they must comply.





I've done both, and haven't had a call in about 3 months -- it's working really well.
